Terms of Service

Effective 2 August 2026 · Last updated 2 August 2026

The short version

  • You buy Snapline once. The license is perpetual and never expires.
  • Every version published within a year of your purchase is yours permanently. Versions published after that need a renewal.
  • Not renewing breaks nothing. The app keeps running at the last version your window covered.
  • Use it on the Macs you use. Don't share, resell, or publish your key.
  • Changed your mind? 30 days, no questions asked. See the Refund Policy.

1. Who this agreement is with

Snapline is made and published by Ziad Ziadeh ("we", "us"). These terms govern your use of the Snapline application for macOS and this website. Downloading, installing, or using Snapline means you accept them.

Purchases are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd as Merchant of Record. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the transaction itself; these terms apply to the software.

2. What the license grants

A Snapline license is a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Snapline for personal or commercial work, on the Macs you personally use. It does not expire, it requires no account, and it is verified on your own machine rather than by any server of ours.

The license is the key: a signed blob that carries who bought it, when, how many seats, and when the update window ends. Activating it is arithmetic performed locally, which is why it works on a Mac that has never been connected to a network.

Snapline does not count your installations and has no technical means to do so. Where a purchase is made for a team, buy one seat per person who will use it; the seat count is recorded in the key.

3. The year of updates

Your purchase includes every version of Snapline published within one year of the purchase date. This is a property of the version's publication date, not of when you install it: a version published inside your window is yours permanently, whenever you get around to installing it, and a version published after it is not, even if you download it later.

When the window has passed, the license is unaffected. What stops is the flow of new versions. Snapline will tell you, without nagging, that a newer version exists and that it lies outside your window.

4. Renewals

A renewal is a further one-time purchase that issues a new key with a later window end. It is never automatic, there is nothing to cancel, and no card is stored for it.

  • Renew early and the year is added to the end of the window you already have, not to today. Renewing early costs you nothing.
  • Renew late and the new year runs from the day you renew. Every version published during the gap becomes available immediately.
  • Never renew and nothing breaks.

Renew with the same email address you bought with, so the new window extends the license you already hold.

5. Downloading without buying

Snapline is free to download and run. Without a license that verifies, capture is locked and nothing else is: history, the editor, text recognition, and everything downstream stay open, because those hold work you already did. You may use an unlicensed installation for as long as you like to decide whether to buy.

6. What you may not do

  • Share, publish, sell, sublicense, rent, or transfer your license key, or use one you did not buy.
  • Distribute modified copies of Snapline, or redistribute it as part of another product.
  • Circumvent, disable, or tamper with the license check, or produce keys that pass it.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent that law expressly permits despite this restriction.
  • Remove or obscure the copyright and identification in the app or its files.
  • Use Snapline to capture content you have no right to capture, or in a way that breaks the law where you are.

What you capture with Snapline is entirely yours. We claim no rights over your screenshots, recordings, or anything derived from them, and we never see them.

7. Payment, price, and tax

Prices are shown at checkout in your local currency, including any sales tax or VAT that applies where you are, and are quoted by Paddle at the moment you buy. We may change prices for future purchases at any time; a price change never affects a license already sold.

Payment methods, receipts, invoices, tax documentation, and the payment data itself are Paddle's. If you need an invoice with a company name or VAT number on it, that is a Paddle request, and Paddle's receipt email is where to start.

Your key is minted and emailed as soon as Paddle confirms the payment, usually within a minute. If it does not arrive, check spam, then write to support@snap-line.app and we will resend it.

8. Refunds

30 days, no questions asked. The details, including how to ask and how long the money takes, are in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Changes to the app

Snapline is actively developed, and versions differ. Features may be added, reworked, or in rare cases removed, and macOS itself may force a change — a permission Apple redefines, a framework it retires. We aim to keep every capability you paid for working, and when something has to go, the release notes will say so rather than let you find out.

Snapline requires macOS 15 or later. A future version may require a newer macOS. That is not a withdrawal of your license: the last version your window covered keeps working on the system it supported.

10. Support

Support is by email at support@snap-line.app, from a person, usually within a couple of working days. There is no guaranteed response time, no service level, and no phone line. Bugs are welcome and specific reports are welcome most.

11. Ownership

Snapline, its source code, its design, its name, and its logo remain ours. Buying a license buys the right to use the software described in section 2, not any ownership of it, and no rights are granted by implication.

12. No warranty

Snapline is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or compatible with every configuration of macOS and every app you point it at.

Snapline is not a backup system. Captures are ordinary files on your own disk, and keeping them safe is your own backup's job.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of or relating to Snapline is limited to the amount you actually paid for your license in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost captures, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

14. Termination

You may stop using Snapline at any time; deleting the app ends the agreement on your side. We may terminate a license for a material breach of section 6 — key sharing, tampering, or distributing cracked copies — in which case you must stop using the app and delete it.

We will say this plainly, because the architecture is public: a key verifies offline, so there is no remote switch to disable one. A termination is a legal statement rather than a technical event, and it rests on you doing what it says.

15. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Changes apply to purchases made after the change; the terms your license was sold under stay the terms of your license. If a change materially affects existing buyers, we will say so here rather than amend a sentence quietly.
